Identification of phosphate solubilizing fungi under Scaphium macropadum stands in Gunung Leuser National Park, North Sumatra

چکیده

Scaphium macropadum is a wild tree species producing important timber and medicinal fruits. As result of overexploitation, this has decreased its population in the although categorized as least concern based on IUCN red list threatened species. Phosphate solubilizing fungi (PSF) are group soil microorganisms that can increase availability uptake phosphorus (P) by plants. This study aims to isolate phosphate from under stands following morphological identification Soil sampling was carried out randomly, with depth 0–20 cm 12 Gunung Leuser National Park, North Sumatra. Isolation PSF using Pikovskaya medium tricalcium (Ca3(PO4)2) source inorganic P then solubilization activity expressed index (SI). The isolates obtained were identified morphologically genus level. results 15 SI ranging 0.96 1.16. Based identification, all members Aspergillus.

Biodecomposition of Jordan Phosphorite by Phosphate-solubilizing Fungi

The bio-solubilization of Jordan phosphorite by the phosphate-solubilizing fungus Aspergillus niger has been investigated. The effect of the phosphate concentration in the liquid medium, the duration of biodecomposition, titratable acidity and the effect of preliminary mechanical activation on the process of dissolution have been studied. The investigations indicate that almost complete extract...

A new species of Leptolalax (Anura: Megophryidae) from Gunung Mulu National Park, Sarawak, East Malaysia (Borneo).

We describe a new species of Leptolalax from Gunung Mulu National Park in eastern Sarawak, Malaysian Borneo. The new species had been assigned to Leptolalax dringi and Leptolalax gracilis in the past. It is shown to differ from both these species and from all other species of the genus by a unique combination of morphological characters including large body size, rounded snout, interorbital dis...

Fungi from geothermal soils in Yellowstone National Park.

Geothermal soils near Amphitheater Springs in Yellowstone National Park were characterized by high temperatures (up to 70 degrees C), high heavy metal content, low pH values (down to pH 2.7), sparse vegetation, and limited organic carbon. From these soils we cultured 16 fungal species. Two of these species were thermophilic, and six were thermotolerant. We cultured only three of these species f...

Managing Ratttan Harvesting for Local Livelihoods and Forest Conservation in Kerinci-seblat National Park, Sumatra

Tropical forests are rapidly vanishing throughout Southeast Asia as a consequence of conversion to agricultural use and commercial timber harvesting. In Kerinci-Seblat National Park (KSNP) in Sumatra, Indonesia, lack of access to irrigated ricefields, insufficient yields from degraded hillside farms, and limited wage labor opportunities leave many households with few livelihood sources other th...

Screening and identification of Iranian native phosphate solubilizing bacteria and investigation of their genetic diversity using RAPD markers

Phosphorus, the most essential nutrient for plants, becomes quickly unavailable for the plants in the soil. Phosphate solubilizing bacteria (PSB( can play an important role in providing Phosphorus for plants. In this study, the PSBs were screened from plant rhizosphere by Pikovskaya method. Then, the growth rate and phosphate solubilizing ability of 9 superior strains were measured at different...
